Summary:
As an AR Analyst I, the primary responsibility involves working with internal and external partners to establish processes that safeguard corporate assets to reduce risk by performing the following:
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Receives targeted account assignments that require collaboration with deduction representatives, cash application representatives, credit, sales, customers and other internal and external partners to perform analysis on aged and/or complex customer payment discrepancies.
Determine root cause .
Where necessary, create customer specific process notes for application and deduction team and establish a plan to minimize the risk of reoccurrence.
Examples:
customer audits, shortages, promotions, advertising allowances, etc.
Responsible for timely analysis, approval and payment for a portfolio of rebate/commission programs.
Aids deduction team by reviewing promotion-end reconciliations for billbacks that are outside established tolerances or that have aged.
Assist s Senior AR Analyst and deduction team with aged and/or complex Oracle deductions such as promotions, samples, detention fees, damages, international custom's charges, bank fees, currency exchange discounts, etc.
; creates debit and credit memos using receivable and revenue codes as directed by Accounting Manager.
Backup to Senior AR Analyst on daily and period end reconciliations and reporting.
Communicates professionally with internal and external customers under challenging circumstances, including but not limited to, phone calls, letters, emails and or meetings related to discrepancy resolution and collection.
Backup for Company Route Application & Cash Account Maintenance.
Escalates identified risk to Senior AR Analyst and/or AR Supervisor.
Provides proper documentation to support write-offs and charge back requests Ensures weekly reporting on aging is detailed, timely and accurate.
Analyzes AR financial data, identifying trends to be considered for areas of improvement Assists AR Supervisor and Senior AR Analyst collect data for auditors.
Assists in reviewing and updating work instructions.
Reports processes not being performed as consistently to AR Supervisor and Senior AR Analyst.
Maintains electronic files in accordance with standard file naming convention.
Assists and/or leads special projects.

Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ; or One to three related experience and/or training in a general accounting environment; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
Ability to write correspondence.
Ability to effectively present and communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to multitask and navigate multiple systems.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of accounting software required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel software required, including but not limited to, macros, VLOOKUP, IFTHEN statements, pivot table, etc.
Ability to type required.
Ability to operate 10-key calculator keypad required.
Experience with Oracle a plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, OneNote, and SharePoint.
Ability to learn new technologies and custom applications.
