Job Description:
Position Function:
Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Engineering, diagnoses equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on a wide variety of equipment, electro-mechanical and electronic equipment, such as defibrillators, monitors, pagers, electrocardiographs, and x-ray machines.
Must be knowledgeable of requirements of regulatory agencies.
Education:
Degree in electronics
Experience:
Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required.
One year of experience in the maintenance of electro-medical and electronic equipment preferred; knowledge of electronic principles, pneumatic, mechanical, and fluid systems required.
Certifications/Licensure:
Must possess valid driver's license to drive designated vehicle.
Must have a good driving record.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Classified as medium work by Dictionary of Occupational Titles:
May exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-20 pounds of force frequently/and/or greater than negligible (up to 10 pounds) force constantly in order to move objects.

Installs, repairs, calibrates, and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation, using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices and knowledge of manufacturer's manuals.
16.
Services various equipment and apparatus, such as patient monitors, electrocardiographs, and other related medical instrumentation.
17.
Safety-tests medical equipment and healthcare facility's structural environment to ensure patient safety from electrical or mechanical hazards.
18.
Evaluates various products being considered for use in the hospital and makes appropriate recommendations.
19.
Communicates effectively in both written and verbal form, takes direction, and establishes priorities accordingly.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
