Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves:
1) utilizing fire protection policies and work practices 2) developing and instructing curriculum on fire protection and prevention procedures and 3) conducting inspections of facilities/buildings, alarm, detection and suppression systems. Selective Placement Factor:

This position requires you to possess and maintain all of the following Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (ProBoard) equivalent certifications:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
