Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Fork Lift Operator) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Materials Handler (FLO) duties. I can prepare, identify and receive items and direct shipments to shipping or storage location. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort:
Work is performed on hard surfaces for extended periods of time that require standing, stooping, bending, walking, pulling, pushing, kneeling and working in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements exceeding 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with approved lifting devices and or weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Working Conditions:
Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Inside environments are well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. Outside work may be performed in hot, cold, damp, poorly lighted and drafty conditions. Incumbent may be exposed to potential falls, cuts, scrapes, bruises abrasions and possible injury. Work performed in warehouse environment is subject to injuries from falling stock, handling materials, hazardous materials and mechanized equipment. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as gloves, hard hats, aprons, approved safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
